1 WHAT WE CHECK EVERY MONTH
- Park Mark® status. Park Mark is the Safer Parking Scheme, run by the British Parking Association and backed by the police. A car park only gets it after passing a police-backed risk assessment of its lighting, surveillance and security measures.
- British Parking Association membership. The BPA is the UK's main professional body for parking operators, and members sign up to its code of practice.
- When a car park holds either accreditation, we show the Park Mark or BPA logo next to the operator's brand logo on its listing. If an accreditation lapses, we take the logo off at the next monthly check.
2 HOW TO READ A LISTING
- Accreditation logos: look for the Park Mark or BPA logo beside the operator's brand logo.
- No logo means no accreditation. Most car parks we list are Park Mark approved, but we also list a smaller number of non-accredited operators, and you can see that before you book.
- Security features: each car park page lists what the operator provides, such as CCTV, fencing, barriers and patrols, and for most car parks the address, transfer time and what to do when you arrive and return.
- Operator rating: each operator's rating is shown on its listing, so you can compare it with other car parks at your airport.
3 WHEN SOMETHING GOES WRONG
- Tell us straight away at help@saveonpark.com or 0333 5678 678 (Mon–Sat, 9am–5pm) with your booking reference.
- We contact the car park and ask them to fix the issue.
- If the same problem keeps happening, we remove that car park from SaveOnPark.
4 HOW TO SPOT A ROGUE MEET AND GREET OPERATOR
- The price is far below everyone else. A meet and greet deal at a fraction of the usual price often means the car isn't going to a secure compound.
- No compound address. A genuine operator tells you where your car will be kept. If you can't find the compound address, ask before you book.
- No company details. Check for a registered company name, a landline and a real address, not just a mobile number.
- No accreditation. Look for Park Mark or BPA. At Heathrow, the BPA's Approved Meet and Greet Operator scheme (AM-GO) is another sign an operator has been checked.
- At handover: photograph your car from every side and note the mileage, then do the same when you collect it.
5 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How often does SaveOnPark check car park accreditations?
Every month. We check which car parks on SaveOnPark hold Park Mark or British Parking Association (BPA) accreditation and update the logos on each listing. If an accreditation lapses, the logo comes off the listing.
Are all car parks on SaveOnPark Park Mark approved?
Most car parks on SaveOnPark are Park Mark approved. A smaller number of non-accredited operators are also listed, and they carry no Park Mark or BPA logo, so you can see an operator's accreditation status before you book.
What happens if a car park gets complaints?
We contact the car park and ask them to fix the issue. If the same problem keeps happening, we remove that car park from SaveOnPark.
Is meet and greet parking safe?
Meet and greet parking is safe when the operator is accredited and stores your car in a secure compound. Check for the Park Mark or BPA logo on the listing, read the security features, and photograph your car and mileage when you hand over your keys.
Does SaveOnPark own the car parks?
No. SaveOnPark is a comparison and booking platform. Every car park is run by an independent operator, and bookings are processed by Britain Car Parks Ltd in partnership with A2Z Airport Parking Ltd, Company No. 10693802.
How do I report a problem with a car park?
Email help@saveonpark.com or call 0333 5678 678 (Mon–Sat, 9am–5pm) with your booking reference. We take it up with the operator directly.
