1- Drop Off
Since 6 Jan, 2026, Gatwick has introduced new drop-off charges.
A minimum fee of £10 is charged each time a vehicle enters the drop-off zone. This fee covers the first 10 minutes. After that, £1 per minute applies for the next 20 minutes, up to a maximum of £30 for a 30-minute stay.
The free alternative:
you can be dropped off free in the official Long Stay car parks for up to 2 hours, then take the free shuttle bus (every 10–12 minutes) to your terminal.
Blue Badge Holder Exemptions
Blue Badge holders get special perks at Gatwick. They can register their number plate in advance with Times24 for a free 30-minute drop-off session. They can also use the Premium Short Stay car park at the standard Short Stay rate for up to four hours by pressing the Assistance button at the barrier.
Passengers needing extra help should book special assistance 48 hours before flying. Gatwick offers walking escorts, wheelchair help, and electric buggies. There are also seats for those waiting for help to get on their flights.
Payment Methods and Late Fees
You must pay for Gatwick airport dropoff by midnight the next day. You can pay online by creating an account (Autopayment), by phone (0330 174 4503), or Direct Online. If you don't pay on time, you'll get a £100 Penalty Charge Notice (PCN). This can be reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days.
2- Pick Up
Gatwick short stay car parks are great for quick visits. They're near the terminals, just a 2-minute walking distance. Gatwick Airport long stay parking offers two hours free and a free shuttle to both terminals.
